Time & Talent

I wish I could paint but I just don't have the time or talent!

People tell me all the time that they wish they could learn to paint but they just don't have the time or talent. I'm not sure where this idea that you need to be "talented" to paint comes from, but I'm here to tell you it's not true! In fact, I think one of the great things about painting is that it's a skill that anyone can learn, regardless of their "talent." So if you've ever thought about picking up a brush and giving it a try, I say go for it!  The worst that can happen is that you'll end up with a bunch of paintings that you don't like. But who knows? You might just surprise yourself.

Painting is often seen as a creative outlet that can be pursued when the mood strikes and is often seen as a luxury just for the people who have time for it. However, there are so many benefits to painting on a regular basis, even if you don't feel particularly inspired.

First, painting is a great way to relax and de-stress. When we're feeling stressed, our bodies produce cortisol, which can lead to a host of health problems. painting can help to lower our cortisol levels and improve our overall sense of well-being. Additionally, painting can help to boost our creativity and productivity.

When we're in a creative flow state, we're more likely to come up with new ideas and solutions to problems. And finally, painting is simply enjoyable! It's a great way to express ourselves and tap into our inner child. Just like with any other skill, the more you practice, the better you'll become.

And even if you're not trying to improve your skills, painting regularly can help to keep your mind sharp and focused. So next time you're feeling stressed, instead of waiting for the perfect time to paint, just pick up a brush and start painting!
